In addition to a very complete preparation and paint job, they were careful with details such as safeguarding our plantings and leaving a clean worksite each day, all with a minimum of disruption to our routine.
I am often asked why someone should hire Manor Works for their interior project. There are many answers to that question, but one of the biggest reasons customers cite is our complimentary color consultation service.
The way I look at it, our customers almost assume they are going to get a super high quality paint job. What they want is someone who can come in and advise them on how to redesign their home. They often know what they want, usually by looking in magazines or model homes, but they don't know how to get there. They could hire an interior decorator, but that can be expensive. Compounding the problem is the fact that designers also deal with other items like furniture or drapes, areas that may not require attention.
Our service is unique in that it strictly focused on selecting the right palette of colors to enhance the look and value of our clients home. We take furnishings and decor into consideration when looking at colors, but the emphasis is how the right colors can transform a home into a showcase. Custom colors are the most cost effective way to immediately change the look, and hence value, of a home.
Sometimes an owner is hesitant to do custom colors, fearing it will hurt their resale ability. Nothing could be further from the truth. While the "wrong" colors can reduce the attractiveness of a home, professionally chosen and applied colors will enhance the architectural features of a home. Instead of a color like "builders white" which will hide features like crown molding, the right combination of colors will enhance the positives that naturally exist in a home.
On a related note, custom colors do not have to be "far out". You can still maintain neutrality, if that is the ultimate goal, by going with a professionally designed palette.
In my other blogs, I explain the steps we go through when selecting the proper colors for a client. I explain some of the basic principles of color theory, and show examples of the various color patterns that can be employed. Finally, I will explain the various steps Manor Works uses to help narrow down the thousands of color choices into the color that will work for you. I will also make some suggestions for some new and exciting color combinations you may want to use on your next project.
