Before your Interior project commences review the General Guidelines below, and then complete the Interior Checklist Form. If you have any additional questions about the specifics of your project contact your original estimator.

General Guidelines for Interior Painting

  1. Decide what areas of the project you want completed first. Manor Works will follow your schedule. If you want the bedrooms done first so you can get all of the closet activities done at once, just let your Senior Painter know this. Keep in mind that Manor Works typically sets up to work in three areas each day.
  2. Decide which pictures, if any, will be going back up in the same location. If you will be removing, then replacing pictures in the exact same location, simply leave the nail or screw in the wall. If you know you will not be putting the pictures back up, remove the nail or screw. This way the Senior Painter will know which holes to fill.
  3. Remove any personal belongings (lamps, trinkets, pictures, etc.) from the areas to be painted. Manor Works will move and replace all your furniture as part of the project. You should move individual belongings yourself.
  4. Remove any fragile items from inside of any cabinets located in the areas to be painted. Manor Works will move your furniture and/or china cabinets as part of the project. Any breakables should be removed from the area.
  5. Unplug and/or remove any electronic equipment (stereos, computers, televisions, etc) from the areas to be painted. Manor Works can move these items for you if necessary, but you will need to reattach all wiring.
  6. If the insides of closets are to be painted, be prepared to lay the contents of the closets on a bed the day that room is scheduled to be painted. This way Manor Works can roll the bed away from the work as necessary.
  7. Decide if you want registers and electrical face plates painted. Let your Senior Painter know how you want these items handled. Some customers want them painted, while others do not.
  8. Be prepared to clean your house (dust, vacuum, etc.) in the days that follow your project. Manor Works will use drop clothes and plastic during the project to protect your belongs. Drywall dust, however will be created in the preparation process. Drywall dust is extremely fine, and will often time settle several days after it was created (and after the plastic has been removed). You should wait 30 days before scrubbing any painted surface to allow the paint time to cure.
