No one needs to be home during the project, but you are welcome to be home during the course of the project is you so desire.

On exterior jobs, Manor Works will need access to the house to paint windows and doors. Dry time can vary based on product and time of the year, and could be as long as 4 hours.

On interior jobs, Manor Works will need access to the interior of the home.

You can either be at home during the project, or meet the crew in the morning and leave a key with the Crew Leader.

Manor Works can usually follow your schedule. For instance, if you will be home the first day and want all the doors done the first day of the project, just let your Crew Leader know this. Keep in mind that windows and doors will need to be open for painting. Dry time can vary based on product and time of the year, and could be as long as 4 hours.

On exterior projects, you should remove any items that might be in the way of painting. Examples include grills, patio furniture, or planter boxes.

On interior projects, you should remove your personal artifacts. Manor Works will move and replace all furniture, but you should remove the items sitting on top of your furniture. Other items you should remove includes computers, electronic equipment, or fragile items like china.

Other items you may or may not remove yourself include drapes, curtains, and wall hanging artwork. If you can remove yourself that is preferable. If you need help moving something, your Crew Leader will assist you on the first day on the project.

On exterior projects, we will need water to clean our brushes and to power wash if required. If you are on a well, or have other concerns about water usage, be sure to call the office prior to your project start date.

On interior projects, we will need a place to clean our equipment. Sometimes this can be done in a drop or utility sink. If not available, we can clean our equipment outside if the water is turned on. Be sure to complete your Project Checklist for specific washing instructions.

For both interior and exterior projects, we will need electricity to power our equipment.

Possibly. We will need about 18 inches of access behind a bush or tree to perform our work. If the bush is large, we can often wrap a drop cloth around it and pull it back from the home.

On exterior projects, Manor Works will scrape off any excess paint from the window panes. Power washing, however, may leave streaks or a film on the glass of the windows. In addition, the handling of windows during preparation and painting may leave fingerprint marks.

On interior projects, Manor Works will also scrape off any excess paint from the window panes, but there is less chance that the windows will become "dirty" as a result of painting.

If you want to have your windows cleaned, be sure sure to schedule this work after the paint project is complete. You should wait 30 days before scrubbing any painted surface to allow the paint time to cure.

Manor Works will follow your schedule. If you want the bedrooms done first so you can get all of the closet activities done at once, just let your Crew Leader know this. Keep in mind that Manor Works typically sets up to work in three areas each day.

You should decide which pictures are going back in the exact same position once the painting is complete.

If you will put the pictures back up in the same position, you should leave the nails/screws in the wall. We will paint around the nails/screws, so you can re-hang the pictures once complete.

If you will not put the pictures back up in the same position, you should remove the nails/screws (or mark them for removal by us) and we will patch the walls.

If your closets are scheduled to be painted, be prepared to lay the contents of the closets on a bed the day that room is scheduled to be painted. This way Manor Works can roll the bed away from the work as necessary.

It depends. If your outlet covers or registers have been previously painted, we will more than likely paint them again. If this is not what you want, be sure to discuss this with your Crew Leader.

If your outlet covers or registers have not been painted previously, we will not routinely paint these unless requested.

We will remove all outlet covers and registers prior to painting. We do not typically remove items such as door knobs and electrical outlets.

Be prepared to clean your house (dust, vacuum, etc.) in the days that follow your project. We will use drop clothes and plastic during the project to protect your belongs. Drywall dust, however will be created in the preparation process. Drywall dust is extremely fine, and will often time settle several days after it was created (and after the plastic has been removed). You should wait 30 days before scrubbing any painted surface to allow the paint time to cure.
