It goes without saying that the crew members are meticulous painters, but I was most impressed with the way they cleaned up after each days work. They also took incredible care in moving our furniture and household items. The whole team was friendly, courteous and professional.
Dick and Barbara Bodson's home suffered from three systemic problems. First, their siding was constructed of Masonite, a fiber based product extremely susceptible to wood rot. Second, carpenter bees had bored holes into dozes of areas around the home. Lastly, the previous paint job had been an oil base application. As a result, the paint had begun to crack and had faded dramatically.
Manor Works solved the problem by identifying the damaged Masonite siding and replacing it with new siding. Unlike the builder, Manor Works primed the back and cut sides of the siding prior to installation. This would help prevent the Masonite from absorbing more water.
Next, Manor Works replaced the damaged trim boards with PVC boards. PVC boards are made from the same material plumbing pipes are, and as a result, are impervious to water damage and insects. The other benefit is that the house maintains the same natural look. Replacing damaged boards with PVC is not covering up the trim with plastic. The PVC boards are identical in shape and size to the existing boards, and once painted, are virtually indistinguishable from the existing wood trim.
Finally, Manor Works prepared the house and applied two coats of Sherwin Williams Duration. This product minimized the cracked appearance of the previous paint failures, but also created a breathable film that would expand and contract with the house to a greater degree. As an added benefit, the Bodson's received Manor Works unprecedented 4-Year Warranty.
