In many businesses today, we find ourselves pushing for quantity over quality. This team of gentlemen provides both! Quantity in that they finished faster than I believed possible – but with superior quality. I can see why you are proud of your employees.
The Owner's of this Middleberg, Virginia beautiful home had high ceilings, but few architectural details. They decorated utilizing mostly antique furniture and wanted a showplace that was as unique as their elegant furnishings.
Dining Room
The dining room had 12 foot ceilings with elaborate crown molding. Manor Works installed chair rail and picture frame molding below the chair rail.
After the room was prepared Manor Works applied a rich blue for the walls above the chair rail. A gray based off-white was selected for the walls below the chair rail and the trim. A high gloss sheen was recommended for this area to accentuate the details in the molding.
Next, the room was prepared for shadow striping. The walls above the chair rail were taped in alternating 6" stripes.
A clear coat poly-urethane was applied to every other taped section to create an alternating flat/gloss appearance.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom housed an enormous antique bed and fireplace. With 12 foot ceilings, the room needed custom molding to highlight the impressive room.
Once the room was prepared for painting, picture frame molding was installed above and below the chair rail as seen in the picture below. The walls were painted in the same off-white and the trim was finished in the same high gloss oil as the rest of the project.
Living Room
In the living room a vibrant gold was applied to the walls. The walls above the chair rail were taped in alternating 6" stripes. A clear coat poly-urethane was applied to every other taped section to create an alternating flat/gloss appearance.
Manor Works also installed several solid oak six-panel doors. These doors were stained and then top coated with four coats of a clear coat poly-urethane.
